Turning Tables Germany works to create positive social change by empowering marginalized youth through music and film. Our approach utilises creative arts by providing a platform and the means for young people to express their hopes, dreams and challenges. Through our programs we create a space for youth to pursue paths of self-expression and provide the opportunity for them to regain self-confidence and claim their individual rights. We strive to support youth in marginalized communities across Germany, creating an open and creative interaction through our mobile Turntable labs. Our programs support young people in learning new technical skills as well exploring their creativity which seeks to prevent them from turning toward negative coping mechanisms. In Germany, we take advantage of innovative, easily accessible low-fi technologies for digital music and filmmaking and support participants in the production of high-quality music and film products that they can take ownership of and distribute amongst their peers. By supporting young people from all backgrounds to work together, we enable youth to pursue creative and constructive civic engagement that puts them at the centre of promoting social inclusion.
