Die Kinder vom Ararat

Ostanatoloien. Dogubeyazit. Agri Dagi. Turkey, a large country with many differences. in 2011, we traveled to Turkey together for the first time. We drove from west to east, from north to south and climbed Turkey's highest mountain, Ağrı Dağı (Ararat 5137m), in the border region with Armenia and Iran. During the journey, the landscape, population density, number of tourists, infrastructure and "objective prosperity" changed. When we arrived in the city of Doğubayazıt in Eastern Anatolia, we had traveled over 2,000 kilometers and had seen and experienced different regions of Turkey. We had close contact with the nomads who live in tents on Mount Ararat in the summer and raise livestock. Their children help them with their work and therefore sometimes only attend state schools in the winter. The schools are in a dilapidated state. A lack of teaching materials, poor sanitary facilities and cold classrooms (broken windows, no heating) make everyday school life difficult. Some of the children have to walk very long distances to school, even in winter without a jacket. Our aim is to give the "children of Ararat" a better chance of an education! To ensure that the donations go directly to the pupils, we have decided to buy jackets and shoes for the children. Please support us and the children of Ararat!
