stART international e.V. emergency aid for children

We support people and especially children affected by war, flight and natural disasters on their way to create cultures capable of peace. This is where we apply an artistic-pedagogical-therapeutic approach.

stART makes it possible for victims to become creators and to see a smile on children's faces again. In order to develop a sustainable culture of peace, it is especially important to us to support children on their path of development. we
work with the means of art and focus on the following three areas:

• direct educational and therapeutic work for children and young people affected by war, flight or natural disasters
• Training and further education for people who have to deal with children affected by war, flight or natural disasters.
• social development through large-scale social policy projects

We are a small organisation that has been active worldwide since 2006. stART is based in Gröbenzell near Munich and currently has a further office in Berlin. Since its foundation until 2019, the stART team has carried out around 120 foreign assignments in countries affected by natural disasters or wars, such as Ukraine, Libya, Haiti, the Philippines and Iraq. In Germany, stART teams work with people with and without a refugee background and conduct training and workshops.

Our work is about the healing effectiveness of art and holistic education in the midst of lives marked by war or natural disasters, about encounters with the foreign and about the touchability that arises from listening to what a constructive future needs.
