About the volunteering opportunity

Do you enjoy playing basketball or are you interested in learning this sport? Then visit our basketball club and join the team!
The Unionhilfswerk Berlin foundation runs a community center at Zabel-Krüger-Damm 50 in the Rollberge-Siedlung. The location is ideal, as the district center is located directly in one of the two Sharoun houses and is therefore an immediate point of contact for many people on site. The aim of the district center is to provide people from the neighborhood with a meeting place and to improve the social infrastructure of the area. For this reason, a wide range of creative, music and sports activities and much more take place on our premises. In addition, you can seek support from our various counseling services or find out more about a wide range of topics at our information events. In order to make our offer as diverse as possible, we are also happy when people from the neighborhood contribute their ideas and offer their own courses or help. Your Tasks

  • You act as a referee, ensure fair play and explain the rules of the game to new participants
  • You take care of borrowing the necessary materials from the district center
  • In the event of special incidents or questions, you can contact the team at any time

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Ideally basketball experience

  • You offer the residents of the neighborhood a place to meet, exchange ideas and spend their free time together
