About the volunteering opportunity
The KRF has been campaigning for the rights and protection of children since 2014. With numerous projects and campaigns, we draw attention to grievances and ensure that children's rights are made more aware in society. Our work ranges from educating the public to providing concrete support for children and families.
In order to continue our work successfully, we are looking for committed volunteers to support us in the areas of fundraising and sales. Your contribution will help us to acquire urgently needed funding and establish valuable partnerships to implement our projects sustainably.
Your support has a direct impact on our ability to strengthen children's rights in Germany and worldwide. As part of our team, you will help us to attract new donors and partners, expand our networks and thus secure our work in the long term.
If you are interested in the social sector and would like to contribute your skills in fundraising, sales or communication, then we look forward to working with you! Not only will you gain valuable experience, but you will also make an important contribution to the realization of children's rights.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer in the field of fundraising and sales, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
-
Researching potential funding providers and donors: You will support us in finding new ways to fund our projects by researching suitable funding programs, foundations and companies.
-
Initiating partnerships: You will help us make contact with potential donors and partners by creating information materials, sending emails and making phone calls.
-
Maintaining relationships with existing partners and donors: You will support us in communicating with our current partners and donors by sending regular updates, creating reports and helping to organize partner cultivation events.
-
Support in the preparation of funding applications: You will assist in the preparation of funding applications and prepare the required documents.
-
Creating and maintaining databases: You will help us to record our contacts with donors and partners in a database and keep it up to date.
- Supporting the development of donor retention strategies: Together we develop creative ideas to build long-term and sustainable relationships with our supporters.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Ideally, you should already have experience in fundraising or sales, as these areas are central to your commitment. If you do not yet have any specific experience, you should at least have a strong interest in these topics and be willing to learn new things.
The following skills and abilities are also an advantage:
-
Strong communication skills: you should enjoy interacting with people, whether by email, phone or face-to-face. The ability to communicate confidently and professionally is particularly important in partner cultivation and donor acquisition.
-
Structured way of working: As you will be supporting us in a strategically important area, it is important that you can work independently and in an organized manner.
-
Ability to work in a team: Even if you carry out many tasks independently, you will work closely with our team. Openness and a willingness to work together are therefore important.
- Commitment to children's rights: The most important thing for us is that you share our vision and mission and enjoy working with us to make children's rights a reality.
Time required
The time frame of the commitment is very flexible and can be arranged according to your own schedule. There are no fixed requirements as to when or how often you have to work - you can integrate your tasks into your everyday life in the way that suits you best. However, long-term cooperation is important to us, as continuity is very important in this area.
We would be delighted if you could support us regularly so that together we can ensure a structured and sustainable way of working. This enables us to continuously pursue and implement the goals we have set together.
Important notice
So that we can get to know you better and the collaboration can start smoothly, we ask all interested parties to fill out our volunteer form. You can find the form at the following link: Volunteer form. This form helps us to optimally assess your interests, skills and wishes for your commitment and to assign you to the appropriate area.
Where?
This project is location independent.
KRF (KinderRechteForum)
The KRF (KinderRechteForum) is a non-profit organisation based in Cologne and has been working for the realization of children's rights since 2014. The founder and managing director is Üwen Ergün. Today about 25 employees support this vision. Individual help, promotion of commitment and lobbying are the three pillars of our work.
The ombudsman's office for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is the core of individual assistance and is available to children throughout the country for questions, complaints and in emergency situations.
Promoting commitment takes place, for example, in the form of project weeks and workshops in schools. Ultimately, the KRF sees itself as a mediator between children and politics and carries out extensive lobbying work.
