About the volunteering opportunity
The KRF has been working to protect and strengthen children's rights since 2014. Our work ranges from educational work and concrete projects to advocacy for children's rights at a political level.
In order to relieve our management in their daily work and to further advance our strategic goals, we are looking for a volunteer consultant to take on both content-related and organizational tasks. You will work closely with the management and support the preparation of projects, presentations and events.
Your commitment will help us to make our work even more effective and ensure that we can continue to strengthen the rights of children in Germany and worldwide.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer management consultant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
-
Preparing the content of projects and presentations: You will assist with the research and preparation of materials needed for upcoming projects, campaigns and presentations.
-
Creation of reports and concepts: You will help to create reports and concepts for internal and external purposes that support our work and strategy.
-
Supporting strategic planning: You will work with management to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
-
Preparation and follow-up of meetings: You will prepare the content of meetings and events and assist with documentation and follow-up.
- Organizational tasks: You will also assist with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the management.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
What you should bring with you:
-
Content expertise: Ideally, you already have experience in preparing the content of projects, reports or concepts. Knowledge in the areas of children's rights, social affairs, education or non-profit work is an advantage.
-
Independent and structured work: You should be able to take on tasks independently and complete them reliably and conscientiously.
-
Strong communication skills: As you will be working closely with the management and will also be involved in preparing meetings and presentations, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are important.
-
Sense of responsibility and discretion: In this role you will be working with sensitive information, so a high sense of responsibility and confidentiality is essential.
- Flexibility and commitment: You should be willing to familiarize yourself with different areas of responsibility and be able to react flexibly to the requirements of the management.
Time required
The time frame of the commitment is flexible and can be arranged according to your own possibilities. There are no fixed working hours and you can plan your tasks so that they fit in well with your everyday life. However, regular and structured cooperation is important, as you will be working closely with the management and continuity is crucial here.
We would be delighted if you can support us in the longer term to achieve sustainable progress in our projects and continuously pursue strategic goals.
Important notice
We ask all interested parties to fill out our volunteer form so that we can get to know you better and prepare the collaboration in the best possible way. You can find the form here: Volunteer form. This form helps us to better assess your interests and skills in order to integrate you into the team in the best possible way.
Where?
KRF (KinderRechteForum)
The KRF (KinderRechteForum) is a non-profit organisation based in Cologne and has been working for the realization of children's rights since 2014. The founder and managing director is Üwen Ergün. Today about 25 employees support this vision. Individual help, promotion of commitment and lobbying are the three pillars of our work.
The ombudsman's office for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is the core of individual assistance and is available to children throughout the country for questions, complaints and in emergency situations.
Promoting commitment takes place, for example, in the form of project weeks and workshops in schools. Ultimately, the KRF sees itself as a mediator between children and politics and carries out extensive lobbying work.
