Your Tasks
- Support 2 students for 45 min each week, for 4 weeks (January 9th - February 9th). Mentoring sessions are flexible and organized weekly based on mentors and the mentees’ availability.
- Each week, learners will attend career workshops, study career related material, support each other in peer to peer sessions, and deliver specific milestones. Main role of the mentors is to review students deliverables each week and support them with their recommendations and industry expertise.
- Students deliverables and mentoring session agendas per each week are already prepared, but you are welcome to add your own flavor to the sessions!
- The first week is dedicated to onboarding and getting to know the mentees
- In week two mentors review a career development plan the students will create for themselves
- Week three is about reviewing students CVs and portfolios (for UX/UI) or Github profile (for Full-Stack)
- Week four is about mocking a technical interview
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
We’re looking for mentors with the technical skills to conduct mock technical interviews and provide feedback on learners’ portfolios or GitHub profiles. Resources such as mentoring session agendas are already provided by ReDI to facilitate the volunteering process. However, each mentor can structure the sessions as they wish!
Time required
Volunteers should be available for the following sessions:
- Mentors onboarding / info recap session (January 9th, 18-19.30 online)
- Kick off session to Get to know your mentees (January 13th, 20.00-21.00 online)
The following mentoring sessions are flexible and organized weekly based on mentors and the mentees’ availability.
Where?
This project is location independent.
