About the volunteering opportunity
The "Welcome to Mainz" project was launched at the beginning of 2009 and is aimed at expectant mothers and fathers as well as parents of newborns. In this cooperation project with the city, the Kinderschutzbund Mainz wants to help ensure that as many families with newborns as possible get off to a good start and are aware of all the services available in the city of Mainz if they need support. During their work with "Welcome to Mainz", they continue to receive educational support and further training. Some of the volunteers speak English or other languages.
Your Tasks
Every family in Mainz that contacts us, regardless of their living situation or origin, is visited by a volunteer or can have a conversation with them at the Kinderschutzbund's offices. Of course, the conversation is free of charge and confidential.
The volunteers are mostly mothers themselves and receive comprehensive training from a pedagogical specialist before starting their work in the visiting service.
