About the volunteering opportunity
Support in organizing a festive Advent brunch and an Advent afternoon for the residents of the nursing home "Alt-Treptow".
Number of volunteers:
- 1 volunteer: 09:00 - 13:00
- 3 volunteers: 14:00 - 18:00
Your Tasks
- Support with preparing and serving brunch
- Talking to, looking after and supporting the residents during the Advent afternoon
- Helping to create a festive atmosphere that brings joy to the residents' lives
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
The volunteers do not need any special professional qualifications. However, the following are desirable:
- Empathy and patience: in dealing with older people with dementia who may need support.
- Eagerness to communicate: openness to conversation and the desire to make the residents' day enjoyable.
- Flexibility: willingness to adapt spontaneously to the needs of the residents and the schedule of the event.
- Ability to work in a team: Good cooperation with other volunteers and employees.
- Physical resilience: especially for tasks such as serving or supporting less mobile residents.
What to bring
The volunteers should wear comfortable everyday clothing that is suitable for lighter physical activities.

The nursing home "Alt Treptow" offers 97 people in need of care a loving and comfortable home. The facility has individually designed single and double rooms as well as conservatories, eat-in kitchens and a cafeteria as central meeting points. The well-tended garden and balconies, which offer space for relaxation and socializing, are particularly popular.
