What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
The aim is to strengthen the culture of the construction projects at the local sites and to find optimal solutions for difficult conditions. We do not want to impose Western building culture on other countries. Nevertheless, we would like to plan the building fabric in a sensible, long-term and sustainable manner in line with local conditions. We achieve this goal by providing project-related support in the form of architectural expertise/consulting support.

Do you have architectural expertise and/or experience in the context of development cooperation? Would you like to play an active role and get involved? Then you will be a great asset to our team.

Time required

Project-based
You can organize your time flexibly, as we work completely remotely. Initially, an individual team meeting will take place 1-2 times a month in your team or with your mentor. More often if required, of course. As your work will be project-related, there will be peak times for planned construction projects where we urgently need your support. The number of projects per year is limited (maximum 1-3 building plans). The commitment can develop flexibly, depending on resources and motivation.

Important notice

As a German association for cooperation projects in East Africa, we are committed to promoting education, health and social development in the region, as well as strengthening and promoting the local Christian faith. The school sponsorship projects are particularly important to give disadvantaged children the chance of a good education. As an association, it is particularly important to us that 100% of all donations reach the child. We also attach great importance to public transparency. This is why we need you as an architecture manager. A diverse range of tasks awaits you.

We warmly invite everyone to actively support us, regardless of gender or beliefs.

Where?

This project is location independent.
