About the volunteering opportunity
Our German association MeetEU e.V. brings people from all over Europe together - for exciting discussions about politics, joint work on democracy projects and a better understanding of each other.
For our 2-day DemocracyLab 2025, we are looking for a volunteer fundraiser to help us make this passion project a reality.
The topic of the planned workshop is "Media Literacy & Democracy". Among other things, it is about distinguishing fact from fiction, checking information and recognizing common conspiracy narratives. It is also about understanding manipulative strategies that aim to polarize societies.

Your Tasks
- Acquiring funding: You contact foundations, search EU calls for proposals and convince companies or sponsors to support our project financially.
- Writing funding applications: You prepare applications in collaboration with the management in order to apply for funding.
- International networking: You will work in an English-speaking team with people from 15 different countries who are enthusiastic about their work.
What we offer you:

- A friendly team: Work with people who are not only highly motivated, but also get on well with each other. (Many of us have become friends through our commitment and visit each other throughout Europe)

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Strong communication skills and initiative you are not afraid to approach potential supporters - by email, phone or in person.
- Digital mindset you enjoy working online with a team of 15 nationalities, from Gen Z to Boomer. Our common language? English. (Don't worry, your language skills will improve very quickly!)
