About the volunteering opportunity
What is the 2026 Day of Honor?
To mark the birthday of our Basic Law, countless participatory activities will take place throughout Germany from May 16-31, 2026, culminating on the Day of Honor on May 23.
What is #everynamecounts about?
Together with Arolsen Archives, we invite you to take part in the largest digital memorial to the victims and survivors of National Socialism on May 19. Over 17.5 million documents are already in the archive as scans, but still need to be transferred to the database so that they can be found and viewed worldwide.
By taking part, you are actively engaging with the past and sending an important signal for respect, diversity and democracy in the present.

Your Tasks
As one of over 115,000 volunteer supporters, you transfer information from scanned documents to the digital archive. Just five minutes is enough for a document to become a building block in the digital monument.
About the process
We will start at 5 p.m. in a joint Zoom call. There you will receive information from us about the background to the Arolsen Archives and how the online archive works. You can then get started and transfer information from scanned documents to the archive. At 7:30 pm we will meet again in the Zoom Call to discuss your impressions and experiences during the work.
