About the volunteering opportunity
Project NADIYA e.V. – Coming Together Where Help Is Needed the Most
The war in Ukraine has triggered a humanitarian crisis that continues to this day. In the chaotic early weeks, immediate, unbureaucratic aid was crucial – and that’s where Project NADIYA stepped in. As a spontaneous private initiative, we started in a small warehouse on the Ukrainian border, sorting private donations, coordinating transport, and establishing connections with local aid organizations.
What began as an improvised aid project has now grown into a registered association with a permanent base in Frankfurt am Main. From here, we regularly collect, pack, and ship humanitarian supplies – sending full 40-ton trucks directly to the most affected regions in southern Ukraine. Our focus: providing essential goods like (baby) food, hygiene items, and medical supplies to vulnerable groups – all the way to the front lines.
But our help doesn’t stop at transporting goods. In collaboration with local partners, we also provide emergency relief in liberated areas. Our goal: to support people who wish to stay in their homes despite the destruction around them. Last year, we were able to make over 500 homes habitable again, giving people a sense of dignity and safety.
Over the past two and a half years, we have learned that the support we provide cannot be measured by the number of pallets delivered. It is the renewed hope that people feel when they realize they haven’t been forgotten.
Надія (Nadiya) is the Ukrainian word for hope – and this is what we bring through our projects to those who had long lost it.
Your Tasks
Join Project NADIYA!
We are looking for dedicated people who want to do more than just watch. Whether in logistics, organization, communication, or on-site – your involvement can make a difference.
At Project NADIYA e.V., there are many ways to get involved – completely flexible and tailored to your strengths and schedule. We are 100% donation-based and run by volunteers, with our core team working remotely and spread across Germany. This means you can get involved from anywhere!
Here’s where we especially need support:
- Social Media: Help us make our message visible, gain reach, and inspire people to join our cause.
- Fundraising: Develop creative ideas to raise donations, assist with campaigns, or engage directly with donors.
Have other talents or interests?
No problem! Whether it’s helping out at packing events in Frankfurt am Main, joining weekly online meetings, participating in a working group, or leading your own projects – we’ll find the right form of engagement for everyone.
It’s important to us that you not only give but also grow personally. That’s why we nurture individual strengths and help you find the type of engagement that helps you develop further. The main thing is that you’re eager to make a difference!
Be part of the change where goodwill becomes real impact!
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
At Project NADIYA e.V., the most important thing is motivation and the desire to make a difference. You don’t have to be a professional – we welcome anyone who wants to get involved.
What matters to us:
- Reliability: Since we work closely as a team, it’s crucial that we can count on each other.
- Initiative: Many tasks offer room for creativity – if you like taking responsibility and bringing your own ideas to the table, you’ll fit right in.
- Team spirit: Whether remote or on-site, we work together towards a common goal. Openness and good communication are key to us.
- Flexibility: In humanitarian aid, priorities can change quickly. If you can adapt, you’ll feel right at home with us.
For specific areas like social media or fundraising, prior knowledge is of course an advantage, but not a must. We’ll support you in getting up to speed and help you develop your strengths.
Everything you bring to the table is valuable – we’ll find the right task for you!

At Project NADIYA e.V., your commitment is as flexible as you are:
- Assignments in the warehouse (Frankfurt am Main): Here you can get involved according to your schedule - whether by the hour during packing campaigns or occasionally when you have time.
- Working in the core team: If you become part of our remote team, you should plan about 3 hours per week. The time allocation is flexible and we adapt to each other so that it works well for everyone.
Whether you want to get involved on a regular basis or support us on a one-off basis - together we will find the right framework for you.
As our internal communication is mainly in German, it is helpful if you have a good understanding of the language.
