About the volunteering opportunity
Since the beginning of the year, we have been helping refugees in the Mulde Valley to find accommodation. In addition to our weekly consultation hours in Grimma, we also offer to accompany people on apartment viewings. Accompaniment is often helpful in breaking down language barriers and encourages clients in the discriminatory housing market. We provide a guide for this accompaniment and look forward to getting to know you personally.
Your Tasks
- Accompanying apartment viewings in Grimma and the surrounding area
- optional: Follow-up of apartment viewing (documents for the landlord and authorities)
- Support for consultation hours in Grimma

The Housing Contact Point has been advising and supporting refugees in their search for their own housing in Leipzig and answering questions about tenancies since 2016. Our services counteract structural barriers such as language, bureaucracy and racial discrimination on the housing market.
