About the volunteering opportunity

We are a non-profit café dedicated to community, sustainability and quality coffee. Our mission is not only to serve delicious coffee, but also to create a positive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome - both our guests and our team. With every cup, we support sustainable coffee farming in Costa Rica and social projects for disadvantaged youth.
We are looking for a dedicated person to help us pass on barista knowledge to our team and keep our coffee offering at the highest level.

Your Tasks

  • Conducting one-off or regular barista training courses and workshops for our café team
  • Teaching the basics and advanced techniques of coffee preparation (espresso, milk frothing, latte art etc.)

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
  • Experience as a barista, ideally in a café or coffee bar
  • Passion for coffee and the art of preparation
  • Experience in teaching or leading workshops is an advantage, but not essential
  • The ability to impart knowledge in a clear and motivating way
  • Reliability and willingness to be in our café regularly (every few months for a workshop)
  • Interest in working in a non-profit environment and making a positive contribution

The VISIONEERS e.V. was founded in April 2015 and is an independent association that supports socially disadvantaged and delinquent young people in Berlin and in developing countries. Since mid 2015, the association has been committed to helping disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, especially unaccompanied minors. As a result, VISIONEERS has increasingly developed offers such as sports, German lessons and tutoring, youth work, sewing and much more for integration and has realised cooperations with refugee accommodations, companies, churches and other organisations. Their programme is aimed at at-risk and delinquent young people and adolescents from difficult life situations.
