Our mission at JugendNotmail is to provide a safe, confidential, anonymous and easily accessible platform where children, teenagers and young adults can find support for mental, social and emotional challenges. Our goal is to provide empathetic and professional counseling to give those seeking advice the tools and resources they need to overcome their crises and strengthen their mental health.

Your Tasks

YOUR TASKS

  • Psychosocial counseling: You offer young people empathetic and understanding support via e-mail and chat.
  • Support with crisis management: You help young people to structure their problems and find solutions.
  • Further training and supervision: You take part in training and supervision sessions to continuously improve your skills.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Qualifications: You have completed training or a degree in psychology, social work, education or a related field (at least a Bachelor's degree) or have completed training in counseling/supervision.
  • Empathy and communication skills: You are a good "listener", can respond to the concerns of young people with understanding and support them in helping themselves
  • Sense of responsibility: You are reliable, strictly adhere to confidentiality and are willing to undergo regular further training and super/intervision.
  • Language level: Language level C1 is a prerequisite for starting at JugendNotmail, as precise and clear communication is essential in order to participate effectively in the workshops and support services such as supervision, intervision and further training. This language level is also necessary in order to fully understand and internalize JugendNotmail's guidelines and to implement them consistently in day-to-day work. This ensures that the high quality of advice and support for young people is guaranteed.

Time flexibility: You can respond to your incoming consultation messages every 2-3 days and spend at least 3 hours per week on consultations.
