About the volunteering opportunity
This is a low-threshold, endurance sports exercise program for people with and without disabilities. "Running for the soul" is a contribution to the inclusion of people with disabilities in organized sport. We meet every Thursday in Wedding to run or walk together for around 5 km along the Panke river. The running and walking group also takes part in selected running competitions in Berlin. As part of the "Laufreise" project, we have also been taking part in the Baltic Sea Relay Marathon in Dierhagen (Fischland) as part of a training trip lasting several days since September 2019.
Your Tasks
Support and, if necessary, management of the weekly "Wedding running and walking meeting". The participants' performance development is embedded in appreciative and motivating communication. The aim is to develop a sense of community and self-esteem. Tailored to individual requirements, rules and training tips are taught and organizational help is provided in preparation for and participation in competitions.
