About the volunteering opportunity
Local political activists are increasingly exposed to hostility. For our commitment against hate and violence, we are looking for volunteers for our online editorial team to raise awareness of the topic, prepare news and present the expertise of our association on our website.
Your Tasks
- Creation of blog articles on our subject area, in particular on current developments, backgrounds and analyses relating to hostility towards local political activists
- Researching and finding topics in close coordination with the association and on the basis of our own initiative
- Establishing an internal network in order to identify relevant topics at an early stage and document the expert knowledge of association members
- Publishing and maintaining content on our website
What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.
- Experience or great interest in journalistic work, blogging or editorial work
- An independent and structured way of working with initiative to find topics
- Enthusiasm (and basic understanding) for politics and our liberal, democratic system
- Interest in the topic of preventing hate and violence against those active in local politics
- Experience with digital applications such as Zoom, Google Drive etc.
- Basic technical equipment: laptop/computer, camera and microphone
- Team spirit, communication skills and enjoyment in dealing with people

Our association offers concrete support for people in local politics against hate and violence, for example through targeted initial information or sensitization workshops. With the support of politicians in the local environment, we work for the preservation and strengthening of our democratic system.
