About the volunteering opportunity
Netzmelden of youthprotect e.V. is the central contact point for online safety and is committed to a respectful and safe Internet and the protection of young people in the digital space. Our aim is to support those affected, remove illegal content and thus make the internet a better place a better place.
Your Tasks
We are looking for Java developers, web developers and app developers. As a developer at Netzmelden, you can contribute your strengths in different areas - whether in the backend with Java and Spring Boot, in web development with modern frontend and backend technologies or in app development for Android and iOS. You will work on scalable, secure and high-performance systems, develop new functions, improve UI/UX and ensure smooth API integration. Depending on your focus, you will play a key role in shaping the technical development of our platform - whether on the web, mobile or in the core backend.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You should be interested in our mission, have experience in development and be able to work digitally using a laptop. We are also looking for independence, flexibility and team spirit as well as a structured, careful and reliable way of working.

We at youthprotect e.V. are actively committed to youth protection, respect and tolerance on the Internet and operate Netzmelden, the leading contact point for online safety against illegal content on the Internet.
Our association works closely with online platforms, hosting providers and authorities to successfully combat illegal content on the Internet. We protect young people in particular from hate speech, violence and abuse, including phishing and fraud. Together, we ensure that this content is removed and prosecuted.
