About the volunteering opportunity
Ibug is one of the largest festivals for urban art in Europe. International artists present Streetart in various forms on changing industrial wastelands in Saxony - this year in Chemnitz. Framed by a musical and educational program, a place of art, togetherness, learning, sharing, creation and, last but not least, a very special and unique attitude to life is created. Come and visit!
Your Tasks
Festival set-up: clearing, working, gardening
Help make an industrial wasteland fit for the public!
We will remove rubble and tripping hazards, tame the green outdoor areas and breathe new life into a lost place. So it will probably be a bit dusty and dirty, but definitely adventurous and fun! During the breaks, there will be delicious food as well as time for nice conversations and networking. Join us in shaping and securing the festival site so that it is ready for the arrival of the artists and visitors.
As we will also be building one or two new things (stages, bars, railings), manual skills are welcome, but definitely not a must! You can also learn a lot there. Helping hands are also needed from time to time for the catering (from shopping to cooking to washing up).

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
No prerequisites or skills are required, except the willingness to lend a hand!

On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
- Work assignments take place from spring until the start of the festival in mid-August
- The volunteering can be one-off or regular
- With prior registration, but also possible at short notice
- Initially mainly at weekends, later also during the week
- Work assignments planned so far: Fri-Sun, 09-11.05. and Fri-Sun, 23-25.05. (each approx. 10 am - 6 pm)
- Whether "only" for half a day, a whole day or the whole weekend: Every helping hand is welcome!
Important notice
- It can get a bit dusty and dirty, so please wear/bring appropriate clothing
- On sunny days, please remember sun protection (cream, headgear)!
- You are welcome to bring your own water bottles, but drinks and food will also be provided
- If you have your own gloves and other protective clothing, please bring them with you, otherwise they will also be available on site!

ibug e.V.
The ibug e.V. organizes a festival for urban art in Saxony and revitalizes industrial wastelands that are no longer in use every year and creates initial incentives for reuse. Hence the name: Industriebrachenumgestaltung, or ibug for short. The festival takes place annually in August/September in Saxony.
It takes many creative minds and helping hands before, during and after the ibug festival to offer visitors new art and culture every year through international artists as well as exciting guided tours and a varied and musical stage program, space for creativity. The ibug e.V. is always looking forward to new faces who want to support the realization.
