Education and support against FGM and forced marriage; promotion and equal opportunities in education. 

Education should not be a privilege - and certainly not depend on the period. FGM and forced marriage are prohibited by law. Nevertheless, girls in Kenya and Tanzania are still subjected to both cruel rituals. Unimaginable for us but a fact of life in Kenya and Tanzania: the majority of girls have no access to hygiene products. Shame, missed classes, dropping out of school and, in desperation, transactional sex, which is associated with a high health risk of contracting HIV, are just some of the consequences. 

The right to health and free development and the right to education are at stake. We want to change that! Together, we are fighting for equal opportunities and supporting girls with safe solutions.

We educate girls in schools and parishes, distribute free menstrual cups as a long-term measure against period poverty, protect girls from FGM and forced marriage, train MHM officers and provide psychological support for girls who suffer from the consequences of violence.
