About the volunteering opportunity
We bring together various services - in particular assistance for homeless people - which complement each other and are networked with each other. One of our main areas of activity for and with volunteers is the "Cologne breakfast for homeless people". It takes place three Sundays a month in different parts of Cologne.
Your Tasks
Support the Sunday breakfast for around 150 homeless people in Cologne. Three Sundays a month, alternating between Südstadt, Ehrenfeld and Mühlheim.
Around 10 volunteers are needed for the organization, the kitchen and the service area at each breakfast. The orientation of the breakfast is characterized by respect and dignity and often offers smaller musical events in addition to an extensive breakfast.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
- Age (at least) 18 years
- extended certificate of good conduct required
- open in contact with homeless people
- no expectations and no pity for those affected
Time required
Once
On weekends, during the day
- The action takes place on Sundays between 7-12 am.
- The breakfast is open from 9-11 a.m. for people in need, homeless people and other interested people.

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
