About the volunteering opportunity
ZULA is a Berlin-based non-profit organization that empowers children’s authors and illustrators—especially BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) creators—to self-publish their books. We provide resources, mentorship programs, and networking opportunities to support independent creators in bringing their stories to life.
In addition, we actively promote these books through reading activities organized in collaboration with our partners in kindergartens, schools, libraries, and community centers.
Your role will be key in making both our work and our vibrant community of creators and volunteer readers visible across social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Native-level German is required, and fluency in English is essential.
Your Tasks
We are looking for passionate individuals who believe in impactful projects and the power of education. If you can help us create amazing contents for social media into two widely spoken languages in Germany, German and English— we’d love to hear from you!

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
Required:
- Student in Communication, Media, Education, Design, or similar
- Strong interest in education, storytelling, or social impact
- Experience with Canva + social media platforms
- Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, etc.)
- Strong writing skills (German: Native; English: Fluent)
📱 Platform Know-How
- Understand platform-specific best practices (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Use hashtags and tags strategically
- Optimize post timing and formats for engagement
