About the volunteering opportunity

ZULA is a non-profit organization based in Berlin that empowers children's book authors and illustrators, especially BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), to self-publish their books. It provides resources, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs to help independent authors bring their stories to life.

At ZULA, we partner with other organizations that publish content to expand our library and provide translations into multiple languages. This allows us to donate books to underserved communities and families and ensure that more children have access to diverse stories. Our goal is to help children see the world in all its richness and reality.
Through our book donation initiatives, ZULA has donated over 2,000 books to children from low-income families and refugee backgrounds in the last year alone, often through partnerships and sponsorships.
