About the volunteering opportunity
Do you have experience with WordPress and would like to advance our association website technically and creatively? We are looking for a dedicated person to help us install, set up and design our WordPress site. This involves the technical implementation, selection and adaptation of themes and plugins as well as the maintenance and optimization of content. You will ensure that our website remains user-friendly, appealing and up-to-date - so that we can present our association's work professionally and reach our members and interested parties in the best possible way.
Your Tasks
- Installation and setup of WordPress on our web server
- Selection, customization and maintenance of themes and plugins that meet the needs of the association
- Design and layout of the website, taking into account user-friendliness and accessibility
- Integration of functions such as event calendar, member area, contact forms, etc.
- Regular maintenance and updating of content in collaboration with the team
- Ensuring the technical security, backups and updates of the WordPress installation
- Support with search engine optimization (SEO) and performance optimization
- Optional: Training of association members to maintain the website independently
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
- Experience with WordPress installation, configuration and design
- Knowledge of working with themes, plugins and common page builders
- Basic understanding of web hosting, domains and FTP
- Experience with HTML, CSS and ideally some PHP are an advantage
- Careful and structured way of working
- Creativity and a flair for appealing design
- Communication skills and team spirit
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with internal processes and content
Time required
Project-based
You should expect to spend around 5 to 15 hours a month on this voluntary work. The timing is flexible and you can do many tasks from home. This makes it easy to combine volunteering with your everyday life.

The aim is to promote a self-determined life as well as social participation and cohesion through low-threshold services such as advice and community projects.
