About the volunteering opportunity
Do you enjoy social networks and want to make our association visible on Facebook and Instagram? As a social media manager, you are responsible for maintaining and designing our profiles. You will create posts, reply to messages and comments, ensure a lively exchange and help to communicate our messages in an appealing and target group-oriented way. With your commitment, you will strengthen the public image of our association and help us to expand and activate our community.
Your Tasks
- Planning, creating and publishing posts on Facebook and Instagram
- Supporting and moderating the community: replying to comments and messages
- Compliance with social media guidelines and profile maintenance
- Developing and implementing creative ideas for posts, stories and campaigns
- Supporting the creation of graphics and images (in collaboration with others if necessary)
- Monitoring activities and reactions on the channels
- Regular success monitoring and reporting of social media activities
- Support in the planning and implementation of social media campaigns (e.g. fundraising campaigns, events)
- Checking and, if necessary, deleting illegal posts or comments
- Collaboration with other team members to coordinate public relations work
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Experience with Facebook and Instagram, ideally in content creation and community moderation
- Creativity and a flair for appealing and target group-oriented content
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor in the digital space
- Reliable and independent way of working
- Basic knowledge of image editing and design is an advantage
- Willingness to engage with the association's goals and values
- Interest in social media trends and willingness to undergo continuous further training
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate well with other volunteers

You should expect to spend around 5 to 15 hours a month on this voluntary work. The timing is flexible and you can do many tasks from home. This makes it easy to combine volunteering with your everyday life.

Leipzig helps Ukraine e.V. is part of an active network for migration and integration assistance in Leipzig and works closely with municipal agencies, associations and private individuals to offer quick and uncomplicated support to Ukrainian refugees. The aim is to promote a self-determined life as well as social participation and cohesion through low-threshold services such as advice and community projects.
