About the volunteering opportunity
A young Ukrainian boy (14 years old) lives in our accommodation in Bogenhausen together with his grandmother - without any other family members on site. The boy barely speaks any German and is not currently part of any existing support system. This makes integration, access to school and arriving in Munich much more difficult for him.
We are therefore looking for an empathetic, Ukrainian-speaking person who will take time once a week to accompany him on his journey - through simple conversations, joint activities and guidance in everyday life.
What you can expect:
- You will be a constant support for a young person who currently has little support.
- You will help him to get to know the city and basic routines.
- Joint activities (walks, short excursions, discussions) will help to build trust and develop perspectives.
- You will be closely supported by our volunteer coordinator, especially at the beginning or if you have any questions.
- If necessary, on-site support is also available.
Your Tasks
What you should bring with you:
-
Knowledge of Ukrainian is essential to build a real relationship.
- Openness, empathy and a willingness to just be there - without pressure or expectations.
- No previous teaching experience required - but reliability and cultural sensitivity are important.
General conditions:
- Assignment: approx. 1x per week, can be arranged individually.
- An extended certificate of good conduct is required before starting (can be applied free of charge through us).
- You will receive a certificate of volunteering for your commitment.
- The commitment can be arranged regardless of location, but initial meetings should take place at the accommodation to build trust.
