Magical physics: discovering scientific phenomena with children (ID: 330348)

The work of the Bürgerstiftung Berlin is supported by the commitment of civil society and the expertise of our more than 500 volunteers. Whether environmental education and language promotion, science, crafts, integration or culture: our projects bring people together and enable social participation - target group-oriented, pragmatic and unbureaucratic.

For the Bürgerstiftung Berlin's "Magical Physics" project, we are looking for volunteers who enjoy scientific experiments and would like to pass on their enthusiasm for physics to children.

The physics mentors visit a school as a team (5-6 physics mentors) and experiment with the children. Magic Physics always takes place in the morning. A moderator explains the experiments and leads the lesson, while the 4-5 table mentors support the 3-5 children at the table in carrying out the experiments independently.

- Time required: 90 minutes plus 20 minutes to set up
- the material is provided by the community foundation

There are currently 25 themed kits with well over 120 experiments. Each team has a team leader who is responsible for coordinating the lesson and liaising with the school. The following are required for this commitment: patience, a desire to work with children, the ability to work in a team, previous scientific and technical training are positive, but not a prerequisite.
