The Caritas Guardianship Association was founded as a result of the high number of unaccompanied minors who fled to Germany in 2015. We look for, find, qualify and support volunteer individual guardians for these young people.

You are appointed by the family court as a guardian until the ward's 18th birthday. As a legal representative, you take care of residence and school matters, for example, and cooperate with authorities such as the Youth Welfare Office or the Immigration Office. You act as a guide through the Berlin supporting system and always have the welfare and interests of your ward in mind. We are always by your side. Participation in the training course required on the subject of age: only the legal age is relevant for the court. We say that a certain level of maturity should be present, as you take on the "parental role" and have to legally enforce interests.
