Volunteers wanted for the City-Station

The City-Station is a restaurant for homeless and people in need. Here they can find a place to stay in addition to good food, washing facilities and an open ear if necessary.

You want to welcome our guests? Do you enjoy a wide range of tasks and do you like to work flexibly in a team? Then City-Station is the right place for you!

Activity: You can take part in various activities. You can prepare the food on plates, serve food to our guests at the counter or take care of the scullery and tidying up after the meal. You can also help sort clothing donations in the clothing store.

Requirements: The minimum age for this volunteer position is 18 years. You must speak German or English for this voluntary position. You also need a so-called "Red Card". There are no costs for this.

What we are looking for: You are open to the life situations of homeless and needy people. You keep an overview and enjoy working in a team. You are reliable and enjoy taking on responsibility. Most importantly, you have an open ear for our guests and treat them as equals!

Time commitment: 1-2 times a week (Mon-Fri) for 3 hours. We are looking for a regular commitment. However, shorter assignments are also possible.

When: Two shifts per working day, 1:30-4:30 pm or 4:00-7:00 pm. 

Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity and are prepared to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Berliner Stadtmission. You are respectful of the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
