Cooking support for refugees

Once a week, the residents of our accommodation for refugees at Tempelhofer Feld have the opportunity to cook in a neighboring room. For this offer, which always takes place on Thursday afternoons, we are looking for up to four volunteers to regularly accompany the residents.

As a rule, participation in this offer only works if we actively approach the residents shortly before the event and inform them about it, as no fixed group has (yet) been established.

The volunteer(s) should therefore
- actively approach the residents in the accommodation, inform them about the offer and invite them to come along
- accompany the entire process of shopping and cooking in the neighboring facility
- accompany the residents back to the accommodation
- not be afraid to communicate with hands, feet and Google Translate in many different languages.

We particularly welcome volunteers who speak languages other than German (e.g. Arabic, Turkish, Dari/Farsi, Ukrainian, Russian, French, etc.).

Openness, spontaneity and creative cooking ideas, fun in dealing with different people, sensitive interaction with people with refugee experience
