About the volunteering opportunity
MAH is a Berlin-based association that works to strengthen and integrate refugee women from Afghanistan in Germany and to support women in Afghanistan.
Your Tasks
You will help us to rebuild the MAH website, both in terms of design and technology. In concrete terms, this means
- Analyzing the existing website and revising the structure
- Selecting or setting up a suitable CMS (e.g. WordPress, Webflow, Wix or similar)
- Development of a modern, user-friendly web design
- Implementation of clear, accessible navigation
- Integration of content (texts, images, events, etc.)
- Handover & short briefing so that the association can later maintain the site itself
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
You should have the desire to help design and technically develop a website. You can bring everything else with you, learn or find out together with us. The following are particularly helpful:
- Basic knowledge of web design or web development (e.g. with WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, HTML/CSS or no-code tools)
- A feel for modern, user-friendly design (e.g. clear navigation, mobile view, barrier-free design)
- Interest in feminist, social or charitable work (you don't have to come from the community, but you do need to be appreciative and sensitive)
- Willingness to work in a structured way and to take us with you in between (short votes, small updates, joint fine-tuning of the result)
