About the volunteering opportunity
Β π We are looking for people who can provide joy and relief to others who are in one of the most difficult phases of their lives!
On our palliative care ward at DIAKOVERE Friederikenstift, we care for seriously ill patients in 8 single rooms. Our aim is to alleviate symptoms, strengthen resources and support patients' autonomy in order to make their remaining time in life as dignified as possible. We have found that heart-shaped pillows, which have become known through a project for breast cancer patients, can provide emotional and physical relief.
This is all the more effective when you can feel that they have been sewn with love by other people.

Your Tasks
Β π It's very simple: you sew as many heart cushions for us as you like according to the pattern. You are also completely free to choose when you sew them. When you visit the palliative care unit, you are welcome to hand them over to the grateful staff and get to know us in this way or in advance.
We will provide you with the necessary materials or replace them. We can also provide you with the template and travel costs. You contribute your time and your craftsmanship - you should not incur any financial costs.
