About the volunteering opportunity
Dear interested people,
in the intergenerational Art Education Program Ubuntus e.V., young people with and without refugee background and/or living with impairment or disability come together in educational partnerships.
The program participants, some of whom live in accommodation centers, engage in various empathy-building educational and learning formats on contemporary art and architecture, working together on artworks and projects that address socially relevant issues of our time.
The young people taking part in the program are empowered by adult participants to practice the vision of a respectful and humane society.
The association is now looking for a volunteer who would like to take on smaller sewing projects. You can arrange your own schedule for this and allocate the time accordingly. Your own ideas are very welcome, but are not a must.
In return for your commitment, you can receive a Berlin/Brandenburg volunteer card, which entitles you, for example, to discounted entry to the swimming pool.

Your Tasks
We are looking for people who can sew and would like to support the Art Education Program Ubuntus e.V. in realizing smaller sewing projects.
The time for such projects can be allocated independently.
You can decide where you want to work, but some meetings will take place in the association's studio office. This is located in Berlin Neukölln.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
To support Ubuntus in this project, it is necessary to be able to sew well.

Important notice
We want to work together in a Covid-sensitive way, as there are vulnerable team members (risk groups) among us. Hate speech, misanthropic and nationalistic positions of any kind have no place with us!

Das Kunstbildungsprogramm Ubuntus
The intergenerational art education program Ubuntus focuses on the main target group: people.
Ubuntus is for children, young people and adults with and without disabilities. Non-fugitive children and adolescents as well as children and adolescents with experience of escape, who live in shared and emergency accommodation, become partners. In equal educational sponsorships they come into contact with each other in projects (modules) on contemporary visual art and architecture and learn something about themselves and the society in which they live.
