About the volunteering opportunity
Bahnhof Zoo, Containerbahnhof and Hauptbahnhof are places where poverty and homelessness are particularly visible in Berlin. At these locations, the Berlin City Mission offers a wide range of assistance on a daily basis, including sleeping, eating and showering facilities as well as social counseling and medical care. Thousands of homeless people find support and space for encounters here.
In our learning worlds, groups and school classes can experience the topic of "poverty and homelessness" in a realistic way. Guided tours and workshops at the Zentrum am Zoo, the emergency overnight stay at the Containerbahnhof and the Zentrum am Hauptbahnhof give participants a realistic insight into the challenges faced by homeless people in Berlin on a daily basis.
