About the volunteering opportunity

Imagine you're new to a country: different language, different culture, different rules - and you don't know anyone. This is exactly where IAAS e.V. comes in.
We are looking for volunteer mentors / buddies to accompany international employees, trainees and students in Germany - on a human, everyday basis and at eye level.

Your Tasks

What you could do:
  • Provide initial orientation in the new environment
  • Better understand forms, appointments with authorities, "German bureaucracy" together
  • Establish contacts with clubs, sports, culture & leisure activities
  • be a "cultural translator": What makes colleagues, bosses, landlords tick?
  • Listen, encourage, keep at it

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.
More important are:
  • Empathy
  • Patience
  • Openness
  • Desire for genuine encounters

  • Perfect English skills
  • A degree in education
  • To be available 24/7
