About the volunteering opportunity

hakaya - Stories in German and Arabic is a multilingual project for children that has been active in Bielefeld since 2021.
we use stories, creative activities and media projects to promote language, self-confidence and intercultural understanding among children from different backgrounds.
we are currently setting up an association for this purpose and are looking for committed people who are interested in creative educational work.

Your Tasks

this dedicated person supports our association in the area of finance and cash. They will keep a simple overview of income and expenditure, collect receipts, sort them and regularly discuss the most important figures with the Board. We will set up the tasks together step by step so that they remain feasible and manageable.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
We are looking for a person who
- likes working with numbers and is not afraid of finance & cash
- is careful and reliable
- can work in a structured manner (e.g. sorting receipts, keeping simple overviews)
- ideally has some experience with accounting, finance or association work
- is open to creative, intercultural projects with children and families

Time required

On weekdays

Important notice

The volunteers should bear in mind that finances & cash registers involve confidential data and that we therefore expect reliability and care. Open communication is important to us: if something changes or you have less time, just let us know. It would also be nice if they would like to take on the role for as long as possible so that we can build up structures together in peace.

Location

This project is location independent.

Hakaya

Hakaya - Stories in German and Arabic is the result of a project that has been inspiring children and families with stories, workshops and media projects since 2021. The focus is on multilingualism (German-Arabic), creativity and intercultural exchange.
In order to consolidate our work, obtain funding and work better with schools and organizations, we are founding a non-profit association in Bielefeld (in formation).
