Volunteers to practise German (ID: 258785)

The shared accommodation for refugees in Konrad-Wolf-Straße near the Hohenschönhausen sports forum is currently home to around 400 people. It is run by the Berlin regional association of the Volkssolidarität. A total of 19 full-time employees take care of administration, social services and childcare, among other things. However, volunteer support is also needed to enable the residents to integrate. Interested volunteers will find an international, friendly and committed team that cares about the residents. There is also a dedicated volunteer coordinator who can be contacted personally for all matters relating to volunteering, such as insurance, volunteer allowances or the exchange of ideas for projects.

As a volunteer, we offer you the opportunity to help people improve their German language skills. Regardless of whether our residents already speak well or are just starting out - everyone is happy to have help!

What can you expect? Personal encounters: You will visit our facility regularly and meet people who are curious to improve their language skills. Fun while learning: We use creative and playful methods to make practicing German a pleasure. Whether through conversations, games or joint activities - there's no such thing as boredom with us! Flexible scheduling: You decide how much time you want to invest. Whether at the weekend or on weekdays, up to 2 hours per week - we will adapt to your schedule. Cultural exchange: As well as practising your language skills, you also have the opportunity to learn a lot about different cultures. It's an exciting opportunity to make friends and broaden your horizons.
