About the volunteering opportunity

With #everynamecounts you record names and data of victims and survivors of the Nazi era. In this way, you actively engage with the past and set a sign for respect, diversity and democracy today.

The documents in our archive, which document the fates of 17.5 million people, have already been scanned. But in order to make them findable and visible worldwide in our online archive, the information has to be entered into a database - with your help!

Your Tasks

Over 385,000 volunteer supporters have helped so far. We have already processed more than 10 million documents together. Help, it's very easy. Just 5 minutes is enough for a document to become a new building block in the digital memorial.

The challenge deals with the maps from the Drancy and Malines collection camps, which record the deportations to Auschwitz.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Your laptop, your tablet or your cell phone.

Time required

Project-based
You can make the commitment at any time, even five minutes will help. Send us a message and we'll show you how to access the documents at any time.

Important notice

The introduction is given in German. However, the assignment itself can be carried out in English and it is possible to ask questions in English during the assignment. This means that participation is also possible without knowledge of German.
