We are part of an international volunteer organization founded in France called "les petits frères des Pauvres", which is committed to helping elderly people who are affected or threatened by loneliness and isolation. Our organization has been active in Europe since 1946 and is now also active in North America. It also has consultative status with the United Nations (UN).

Are you passionate about organizing and love to plan and carry out different event formats for older people in Berlin? Then support us as a volunteer. As part of our dedicated team, you will have the unique opportunity to bring young and old people together and create unforgettable experiences.

We plan events for special occasions such as Easter, summer outings, the International Day of Older People on October 1 and during the Christmas season, as well as small regular events such as coffee mornings. Your creativity and organizational skills are needed to design inspiring and perhaps even innovative events and to ensure that these events run smoothly.

You will need advanced German language skills for this volunteering opportunity. Whether you already have experience in the event industry or are just starting out, if you enjoy implementing creative ideas, working with people and organizing events, we welcome you. Our events are specifically aimed at lonely older people over the age of 75 who have a visiting partnership with Freunde alter Menschen. Many of these people are restricted in their freedom of movement due to their limited mobility. This restriction presents us with challenges when implementing some events, as a transport service for older people is required, for example. For this reason, it is not possible, for example, to offer certain events such as dance events
