About the volunteering opportunity
A volunteering opportunity from magda Caritas Youth Center
The magda Caritas Youth Center in Berlin-Lichtenberg is an open leisure facility. Children and young people aged 12 and over are welcome at any time. From Monday to Friday, we offer a variety of activities such as billiards, table football, making music together, cooking or simply chilling out. Ten minutes' walk from Lichtenberg S-Bahn and U-Bahn station is the so-called "HolzHaus", a light-flooded new building with a large garden and outdoor area, where magda has been based since 2016. We use our garden for volleyball and basketball and barbecues in the summer. We grow our own vegetables and attach great importance to healthy eating. We cook a fresh lunch every day and everyone can contribute their own ideas. We eat together at the table, which is particularly enjoyable for the children and young people who usually eat alone at home in front of the TV. Afterwards, we are happy to help with homework, preparing papers and presentations, applications or looking for an apprenticeship. Computers are available at Magda for this purpose. you can also "gamble" at Magda, we have several games consoles and PC games on offer. Children up to the age of 12 go to the "kids-OASE", which is also located in the HolzHaus. In the transition phase between the ages of 12 and 14, children and young people are cordially invited to magda. During the school vacations, we go on excursions almost every day. For example, we go bowling, swimming or go-karting. If you want to get out of the city, you can go on a vacation trip with us as a group for a few days. Together we have already been to the Baltic Sea, Poland and various lakes in the surrounding area.

Your Tasks
We would like to give our young people the opportunity to work out under supervision on our punching bag and with our training equipment - without the risk of injury. We are therefore looking for a person who could provide regular instruction and who enjoys working with young people aged 12 and over.
