Your Tasks

Our initiative offers a comprehensive range of information and support for local political activists who are affected by hate and violence. In order to strengthen our team and professionalize our association's work, we are looking for lawyers to advise the association on data protection law with the following focal points:

  • Contact person within the association for questions relating to data protection
  • Collaboration in the development and implementation of the association's data protection strategy
  • Assessing and monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection regulations
  • Reviewing and designing consent and information documents (e.g. data protection declarations, forms, website content)
  • Support in the selection and evaluation of external service providers (contract processing, cloud services, etc.)
  • Advice on the secure processing of sensitive data
Important:

  • This is not the role of a data protection officer - no formal data protection responsibility is transferred.
It is currently not planned for data subjects to contact our association directly with legal concerns. We do not provide legal advice.

What you can expect from us

  • Introduction to the topic of "hate and violence against local political activists" and to our services and activities
  • lots of fun working in our open-minded team, new contacts and exciting discussions
  • a meaningful non-profit activity with plenty of room for your own ideas and an interesting, varied range of tasks with free time management (the scope of the commitment should fit in with your personal schedule)
  • new contacts in politics and civil society organizations
  • Opportunity to take part in specialist conferences and training courses
  • Invitations to joint workshops and leisure activities
  • flexible scope and digital collaboration: We are looking for a long-term commitment and take into account that availability may change.

What you should bring with you

  • At least a first state examination in law or a master's degree in law/business law
  • Sound knowledge of data protection law, data protection management or willingness to familiarize yourself with it
  • Basic understanding of IT, data processing processes, IT architecture and IT security measures
  • Enthusiasm (and basic understanding) for politics and our liberal, democratic system as well as an interest in the prevention of hate and violence against those active in local politics
  • Team spirit, communication skills and enjoy working with people
  • Experience with digital applications such as Zoom, Google Drive etc.
  • Basic technical equipment: PC/notebook with camera and microphone
  • German language skills level B2 or higher
