About the volunteering opportunity
Local political activists are increasingly exposed to hostility. Our association is committed to protecting them and strengthening democratic culture. To do this, we rely on private donations - and your support in the area of fundraising!
Your Tasks
Activity
We have decided to expand our communication with potential donors, as so far all activities in this direction have been uncoordinated or spontaneous (thank you emails to donors, irregular updates on the website and Betterplace, no reminders to previous donors, etc.). We want to increase the income from private donations. This is how you can support us:
- You will analyze our status quo: our services, existing communication (website, social media, donation platforms) and the volume of donations.
- You will develop a concept for ongoing, structured donation-related communication and coordinate this with those responsible in our association.
- You will work with us to develop specific donation campaigns (e.g. end-of-year campaigns, project donations, events such as elections or campaign days).
- You support the implementation of the measures (e.g. texts for mailings, website, newsletter or donation platforms).
- You will help to set up or maintain a donor database.
- You will develop simple evaluations and work with us to learn which measures work well.
What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.
What you should bring with you
- Experience with fundraising and/or donor communication, ideally also in the introduction of new processes in a small organization
- An independent and structured way of working with initiative to further develop fundraising
- German language skills at native speaker level
- Enthusiasm (and basic understanding) for politics and our free, democratic system
- Experience with digital applications such as Zoom, Google Drive etc.
- Basic technical equipment: laptop/computer, camera and microphone
- Team spirit, communication skills and enjoyment in dealing with people

Our association offers concrete support for people in local politics against hate and violence, for example through targeted initial information or sensitization workshops. With the support of politicians in the local environment, we work for the preservation and strengthening of our democratic system.
