About the volunteering opportunity
The path to an own apartment. For our residents. And you're part of it!
In close cooperation with our social team, you will support a person (between 18 and 48) on their way to getting an apartment. Your help will open up new life prospects for this person and improve their quality of life.
We look forward to your involvement in individual steps, as well as the entire process. Just as it suits you.
Step A) Our social team creates a checklist for the necessary documents. You accompany* the implementation step by step with your motivating attitude, by listening and asking questions. This phase lasts an average of 2 months. This can be followed by step B). You are in regular contact with our social team.
Step B) With the complete documentation, you can start researching the housing market. Here you will support* the resident's activities. For example, by setting up accounts on the relevant real estate portals and selecting housing offers that meet the requirements of the job center/social welfare office. You will keep the research process going by making regular inquiries and providing motivating impulses. Here, too, you are in regular contact with the social team.
Dealing with disappointment when applications are rejected or no feedback is an important and emotionally strengthening part of your voluntary support.
Step C) With receiving invitations to view apartments, you will receive a briefing from the social team and accompany them to the appointment well informed. Your presence provides support* during the viewing and during the meeting with the landlord's contact person.
* It is important to us to emphasize that those looking for accommodation should be able to manage their own housing search process independently and on their own responsibility. Your voluntary assistance is therefore in the spirit of "helping people to help themselves". Communication and correspondence with government offices, authorities, housing providers and landlords is the responsibility of the person seeking accommodation. Our social team mainly supports and guides the process, you complement the overall process with your valuable donation of time, your openness to special life situations and your motivating manner.
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.
