About the volunteering opportunity
→ Do you enjoy working with babies?
→ You are looking for a flexible commitment?
→ Are you reliable and open-minded?
As a wellcome volunteer, you give mothers and fathers a little break in their everyday lives. Parents can recharge their batteries so that they don't lose sight of the most important thing - the joy of their child!
The first few months after the birth of a child are a big challenge for all parents. With the Wellcome - practical help after the birth, we support parents who want some relief during this time, especially when other helping hands are missing. Our volunteers accompany families in a practical and uncomplicated way.

Your Tasks
Give young parents a good start to family life. As a wellcome volunteer you help in a very concrete way: a walk with the baby, playing with a sibling or accompanying the mother or father to the pediatrician. And it's very flexible: you meet the family 1 - 2x per week for 2 - 3 hours for 3 - 4 months. Then the next family is waiting. No special qualifications are necessary, as you will be well supported by your team coordinator.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
You should already have some experience in dealing with children, e.g. know how to hold a baby safely in your arms. The submission of an extended police clearance certificate is mandatory.
Time required
Regularly
Discussed individually
Depending on your own resources and the family's needs, 1-2 meetings of approx. 2-3 hours per week are planned. An assignment usually lasts 3-4 months. After that, further assignments are possible.
