About the volunteering opportunity
the aim of the Gemiensam.Schaffen sponsorship project is to connect people with similar interests, strengthen them by building bonds and forming self-help groups. Since its foundation in 2016, the project has been supporting ideas for integration as intercultural exchange in various ways. The main idea of Patenschaft-Tandems is to nurture the idea of volunteering, but also to strengthen grassroots social networks where we can represent our interests, express our needs and set the direction for our personal development.

Polnischer Sozialrat
we place mentors with refugees and educationally disadvantaged young people. The tandems are supported with a monthly activity budget and can take part in our regular meetings and groups, such as literature mentoring, video making, blogging or voguing. We also offer training courses and workshops on topics such as intercultural communication, finding accommodation for refugees and diversity in urban areas.
