About the volunteering opportunity
Local political activists are increasingly exposed to hostility. Our association is committed to protecting them and strengthening democratic culture. In order to be able to continue and expand this important work, we are dependent on reliable sources of funding beyond donations. The Funding Working Group plays a central role in identifying, applying for and using funding - so that our services remain possible and continue to grow.
Your Tasks
- Financial planning: Research and analysis of relevant funding foundations, funding programs and competitions; development of a long-term financing strategy
- Cost and financing planning: Preparation of cost plans in collaboration with the Executive Board and head office
- Proposals and applications: Preparing and submitting funding applications, applying for suitable competitions and setting up a documentation system for applications and successes
- Networking and cooperation: Establishing and maintaining contacts with sponsors and building partnerships
- Implementation and monitoring: Supporting approved projects, monitoring the use of funds and regular evaluation of funding successes
What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.
We would be delighted if you have expertise in the field of funding acquisition or if you would like to get to know this area - e.g. alongside your studies or job.
- Possibly experience or interest in funding acquisition, foundation work or competition management
- An independent and structured way of working with initiative to further develop fundraising
- German language skills at native speaker level
- Enthusiasm (and basic understanding) for politics and our free, democratic system
- Experience with digital applications such as Zoom, Google Drive etc.
- Basic technical equipment: laptop/computer, camera and microphone
- Team spirit, communication skills and enjoyment in dealing with people

- Flexible scope: We are looking for a long-term commitment and take into account that availabilities may change. As a rough guide, we expect around 2 hours per week - flexible by arrangement.

Our association offers concrete support for people in local politics against hate and violence, for example through targeted initial information or sensitization workshops. With the support of politicians in the local environment, we work for the preservation and strengthening of our democratic system.
