About the volunteering opportunity
As Berlin's largest support and self-help association in the healthcare sector, the German Rheumatism League Berlin provides competent assistance to people with chronic rheumatic diseases in dealing with the disease, supporting and accompanying them in their everyday lives. This takes place in our meeting points, in around 50 self-help groups, through a varied program of courses close to home and through many other offers.
For our regulars' table on the north bank , we are looking for committed volunteers who would like to help organize and support a group for people with rheumatic diseases. The aim is to create an open space for exchange, mutual support and community.

What is a regulars' table?
Our regulars' table is an open, low-threshold offer for people with rheumatic diseases. Those affected can come along without registering, get to know others, share experiences or simply sit together in a relaxed atmosphere. The regulars' table takes place in a restaurant on the north bank (Wedding, near U Amrumer Straße) every last Wednesday of the month at 19:00.

Your Tasks
- Make arrangements with the other regulars' table sponsors
- Take turns as part of the team to be present at monthly meetings and help shape the framework
- Welcome new participants and get them talking
- Passing on information about Rheuma League Berlin offers
- Stay in contact with the location and our team of social workers
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Interest in dealing with rheumatic diseases
- Enjoy getting to know new people
- Empathy, sensitivity and openness in dealing with others
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 3 hours per month.
On weekdays, at night
- We look forward to your presence at at least 3 regulars' tables a year - or even more!
- Regulars' table: every last Wednesday of the month from 19:00 (duration approx. 2 hours)
- Additionally approx. 1 hour per month for short arrangements and organization
Important notice
We offer you guidance from our social work specialists, a permanent contact person, a lively exchange of experiences with other volunteers, reimbursement of travel expenses incurred as well as further training opportunities and exchange meetings. In addition, you are covered by our liability and accident insurance and can take part in excursions and events.

"Rheumatism" is a serious form of disease in many facets. In Germany, almost 17 million people suffer from a rheumatic disease.
Everyone can be affected: from children, to teenagers to younger or older adults.
As a registered association "German Rheumatism League Berlin", we offer those affected help to help themselves. At the center of our work are the four actions: movement, advice, meeting and accompaniment. We support, advise and accompany those affected with a variety of offers as close to home as possible in all districts of Berlin
