About the volunteering opportunity
Generation Nachbarschaft is a project of the Freunde alter Menschen e. V. association and brings together younger and older neighbors. Various activities in the neighborhood offer the opportunity for contact between the generations and create a lively neighborhood. These range from joint lunches and games afternoons to neighborhood walks and much more.

Your Tasks
You get involved in the team and help to plan and implement regular meetings. You can get involved in existing events in Mariendorf and Reinickendorf - or set up a new, intergenerational meeting in your own neighborhood. If you have your own ideas for a format, let us know. Maybe you're an "explainer" and can offer cell phone consultation hours, or maybe you're itching to pass on your latest knitting patterns at joint needlework meetings. Whatever the case, we will support you in setting up your new format.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Advanced knowledge of German
- Extended certificate of good conduct (standard for working with older people). The costs are covered by the association.
- Regularity & desire to work in a team (ideally at least once a month)

On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
- Regular, approx. 1 appointment/month plus short preparation by arrangement
- There are also weekly events for people with more time availability

Generation Neighborhood is a project of the association Freunde alter Menschen e.V.
Our goal is a lively neighborhood. We bring young and old together, create meeting places and opportunities to actively shape and experience the neighborhood. Generation Neighborhood connects people of all ages in the neighborhood and offers attractive opportunities to meet, get to know each other and create a neighborhood network. An afternoon of games, lunch or neighborhood walks are just some of the opportunities to get together with neighbors. The events are organized by teams of volunteers.
