About the volunteering opportunity
Your commitment makes it possible for affected people to take part in short to medium-term offers and projects with the aim of overcoming isolation, building a daily structure and strengthening social interaction.
Many of the residents have inadequate or no knowledge of German. We would therefore like to offer them a low-threshold language course. This enables the residents to take a step towards social participation in the neighborhood and society.

Your Tasks
your support means practicing everyday phrases and words in German with the residents in a relaxed atmosphere. The aim is to be able to ask and answer simple questions in a friendly and polite manner. For example, asking for directions, asking for help, making an appointment, finding your way around bus and train lines. Your help is about communication when speaking and listening. Grammar is not the topic or the content. The proportion of speaking should be approx. 90 to 10. This means that the participating residents have a high speaking rate. Constant repetition and asking questions strengthens the use of language skills.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- advanced knowledge of German (C1 or higher)
- Openness towards a wide variety of people and milieus
- Patience and some frustration tolerance; humor and shared laughter help here
- friendly, open communication at eye level
- You are of legal age and can present a police clearance certificate without endorsements. We support you with the application, so that it is free of charge for you.
